Pokemon Legends Z-A is here, the next entry in the Legends spin-off series that began with Arceus back in 2022. This time, players head back to the Kalos region, first seen in Gen 6’s X/Y games.
As we are heading back to Luminose, expect many mechanics and features from the Gen 6 games to return, including Mega Evolutions, a fan-favorite among the community and one we’ve been having a lot of fun with, especially as new Pokemon such as Dragonite have now been given their own Mega Evolutions.
Ahead of the release of Pokemon Legends Z-A, the first update went live, the 1.0.1 update, here is everything that was included.

Pokemon Legends Z-A 1.0.1 Patch Notes
Here is everything that is included in the day 1 update for Pokemon Legends Z-A, the 1.0.1 patch.
- Added the data that needs to be updated to play online features
This update was a minor one, introducing online features to the game, including Ranked Battles, Link Trades, and Mystery Gifts.
Before this update, which was released shortly before the game began being unlocked across the world, the majority of the players who owned the game were media and industry professionals. This is common practice to keep some functionality locked until the general public can play the game.
Most players likely didn’t even realize this update had been installed as it just added core mechanics to the game.
However, expect more major updates for Pokemon Legends Z-A over the coming months, which will include new Pokemon, Pokemon Home functionality, balance changes, graphical and performance improvements, as well as the upcoming Mega Dimensions DLC that is set to launch on February 28, 2026.
