- Editor’s Note: There haven’t been any new Mystery Gift codes in a while, with Ralts and Alpha Charizard now being unavailable, and no new Mega Stones have been added to Ranked Battles. It seems like the three post-game missions to unlock Mega Evolutions for Garchomp, Mewtwo, and Diancie will be permanent additions to Pokémon Legends: ZA.
- Pro Tip: You do not need a Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) membership to claim these, but you must have completed Main Mission 3!

How to Unlock Mystery Gifts in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Unlike previous games, Mystery Gift is not available immediately. You must progress through the story:
- Play through the opening tutorial in Lumiose City.
- Reach Main Mission 3: “A New Life in Lumiose City.”
- Visit the Pokémon Research Lab and speak with Mable.
- Once she finishes your orientation, the Link Play option will unlock in your main X-menu.
How to Redeem Your Gifts
- Press the X button to open the Main Menu.
- Select the Link Play tab (the icon with the two handheld consoles).
- Choose Mystery Gift from the right-hand column.
- Select either “Get via Internet” or “Get with Code/Password” based on the reward.
- Watch the delivery animation and Save your game!
Pokémon Legends: Z-A FAQ
Why is my code not working?
The most common reason is that they have expired and are no longer active. For example, the code B1G0006 for Charizard ends on January 19th, 2026. If it’s past that date, the code will return an “expired” error. Additionally, ensure your system is connected to the internet; while you don’t need a paid NSO sub, a stable Wi-Fi connection is mandatory.
How do I get the Mega Stones for my Starters?
The Mega Stones for Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja are obtained through the Mega Dimension DLC quests or as rewards for reaching Rank W in the current Ranked Battle Season, which will only take a couple of battles to reach. Check the “Link Play” menu under “Ranked Battles” to track your progress!
What is an “Alpha” Pokémon?
Alpha Pokémon, like the Charizard from the current Mystery Gift, are larger than normal and come with three maximum Effort Values (EVs) and a unique move they wouldn’t normally learn through leveling.
